Sioux Falls, SD – Heron Lake, MN native, Hobie Hedquist (’03), commits to Colorado College (NCHC).

The 6’2” 168lb G, is in his first season with the Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede AAA Tier 1 program.  Hedquist has started 22 games this season earning an 89.5% SAV for the 16U team.

"As a program, we are very happy for Hobie regarding his commitment to attend school and play D1 hockey at Colorado College. Hobie's work ethic and athletic ability speak for itself; it is his performance in the classroom and his character both on and off the ice that we are most proud of. These are the intangibles that will grant Hobie the opportunities to compete at the highest levels,” said Noëlle Needham, Head Coach.

The Jr Stampede Tier 1 Program, based out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is in its third year with teams competing at the 14U, 16U and 18U level and has multiple USA Hockey National Tournament appearances at both the 16U and 18U Tier 1 levels.

“The Jr Stampede AAA program is excited for Hobie. His commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey at Colorado College is a reflection of his hard work and dedication. He has exemplified what it means to be a Jr Stampede player,” said Matthew Tobin, GM.
