    14U Coaching Staff Announcement

Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Jr Stampede is excited to announce the hiring of Avi Friedman and Tim Parkos. Friedman and Parkos will serve as Co-Head Coaches for the program’s 14U team for the 2017-18 season.

For the past four seasons, Friedman served as an assistant coach for the Minnetonka Bantam AA team in Minnetonka, MN.  He helped lead the Minnetonka team to two consecutive state titles.  Additionally, he gained experience coaching at the tier one level with wins against some of the nation’s top teams, including Shattuck-St. Mary’s and the Chicago Mission.

In addition to his coaching experience, Friedman was recently named the Head US Scout for the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League (WHL), and formerly served as a scout in the United States Hockey League (USHL).  Friedman also works as a director and coach for Durham Hockey Institute (DHI), and manages all of the elite Spring/Summer teams and camps.  He continues to run elite skill development sessions for many of the top players in the Minneapolis area through his company PASS Hockey.

Tim Parkos comes to the Jr Stampede after a successful season coaching Rosemount Bantam AA in Rosemount, MN.  He also works with DHI and can be found managing the bench in elite tournaments throughout the summer all over North America.  Parkos owns and operates Elite 1 Training of Apple Valley, MN where he provides off-ice training to high caliber athletes.

The Sioux Falls Jr Stampede 14U team will play a 50 game schedule this season that is comprised of a combination of Tier 1 programs and Bantam AA teams. The team will also compete to represent the Northern Plains District at the Tier 1 National Tournament in April.
